MAAYO is a warm and friendly greeting of Camiguiños. A walk around the barrio can entail a lot of new excitement as you meet Manong Peping, the bamboo basket weaver in Tagdo, the copra makers and Manong Ruben, the bamboo craftsman of Abu and the noble old man riding his horse hauling the month's harvest to Mambajao, the island's capital.

Off the road can be a delightful walk along the creek, cold springs, hot springs and rice paddies where the smell of the sprouting green rice is as fragrant as the morning when papayas are in bloom. Time passes without a hint as you watch a graceful Carabao (native buffalo) panting her way back to the shade.

Sunrise is a lovely nostalgic experience as the silhouette of the coconut slowly unfolds while the sunset is as soft as the cloud that dances above the majestic Mt. Hibok-Hibok from a distance. Camiguin is a fertile island with elegant waterfalls and seven volcanos, just like a woman full of deep secrets.

Abu Nature Camp replenishes the human spirit. It is dedicated to the children and youth of the Philippines and the world.

Do adults have a place in the camp? YES, if you yearn to be with nature, live in tents (they are comfortable and safe), find time to experience the silence (and wisdom) within.

We have accommodations for 50-80 persons, a restaurant cum conference hall, a native open gazebo as prayer center, a staff house and a lanai where you can watch the stars while sipping a cup of tea or coffee.
